Give Your Worries to God

Worry is a common emotion that often stems from fear of the unknown or feeling overwhelmed by our circumstances. God does not want us to carry the burden of worry, but rather encourages us to trust in His plan and find peace in His guidance.

If you have or are currently struggling with worry, this sermon called “Finding Freedom From your Worries”  by Life Church’s Pastor, Craig Groeschel, can be helpful!

These past few weeks, I’ve been filled with anxiety and worry, and I couldn’t figure out why, so this sermon was right on time! Below are a my key takeaways from the sermon as well as a few verses from the Bible that remind us that God doesn’t want us to be filled with anxiety or worry, but instead cast our burdens onto Him:

Takeaways:

  1. Worry has NEVER changed anything for the good.

  2. Worry poisons our peace, kills our joy and stunts our faith.

  3. Worry increases our anxiety.

  4. Before we panic about anything we need to pray.

  5. Before we worry about anything we need to read God’s word.

  6. If it’s out of our hands, we need to get it out of our minds.

  7. Worry highlights our trust issues in God’s ability to conquer all things (big and small).

  8. Worry doesn’t protect us from tomorrow’s problems, it robs us of today’s peace!

  9. In everything we do, we need to have faith.

  10. Pray BIG, worry small!

Bible Verses:

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothes?"

MATTHEW 6:25

"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"

MATTHEW 6:26

“.. seek first [God's] kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

MATTHEW 6:33

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

2 TIMOTHY 1:7

"So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

MATTHEW 6:34

Remember, by surrendering our worries to God, we allow ourselves to relinquish our fears and allow Him to step in on our behalf. Be encouraged!
