10 Different Names of Jesus

If you’re like me – dealing with uncertainty, concerned with the outlook of our nation but choosing to surrender to God – then this blog is for you. I’ve been meaning to do this for a while – but here are 10 different names and mentions of Jesus – to remind us of the importance of abiding in Him.
1. Immanuel
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel (which means “God with us”).” - Matthew 1:23
2. Lamb of God
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” – John 1:29
3. Alpha and Omega
“I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” – Revelation 22:13
4. Prince of Peace
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6
5. The Bread of Life
“Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” – John 6:35
6. The Living Stone
“Come to Him [the risen Lord] as to a living Stone which men rejected and threw away, but which is choice and precious in the sight of God.” – 1 Peter 2:4
7. The True Vine
“I am the true Vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that continues to bear fruit, He [repeatedly] prunes, so that it will bear more fruit [even richer and finer fruit].” – John 15:1-2
8. The Light of the World
“Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, ”I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.” – John 8:12
“.. I am the Light of the world [giving guidance through My word and works].” – John 9:5
9. The Good Shepherd
“I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down His [own] life for the sheep.” – John 10:11
10. The Way, the Truth and the Life
“Jesus said to him, ”I am the [only] Way [to God] and the [real] Truth and the [real] Life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
– John 14:6
